The Convenient Lie

Yesterday I lost count of how many times the popular media claimed that Al Gore won an Oscar for the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". This is a convenient lie. The real (inconvenient) truth is that Gore did not win an Oscar. Oscars were won by Davis Guggenheim, director of "An Inconvenient Truth" and by Melissa Etheridge who wrote and sang the theme song. The popular media is falling all over themselves to build up their hero Gore even if they have to jeopardize their credibility to do it. Although I did not watch the Oscars I understand that Gore took the stage twice when both Guggenheim and Etheridge were presented their Oscars. He took as much credit for the awards as the true artists did! Gore is a shrewd business man who knows the value of publicity especially if it's free. After all, he needs the money, supporting his lavish life style is expensive!!

yes, it was funny when he took the stage the first time. He looked silly up there the second time.

And let's not forget that he took credit for inventing the Internet.

But let's not forget that he hasn't said anything about winning an Oscar. If the dumb reporters want to report it that way, it's their business. We know the truth, and you can better your bottom dollar that Gore does too.

Gore has never been a business man, never earned a dollar trying to make a payroll. He is a member of the elite class and believes he knows better than other people. We were very fortunate that the National vote went the way it did.

I agree Gore is not a business man as you and I think of a business man but he makes a few million dollars a year on the speaking tour (including the rich mideast oil countries where he bad mouths the US and Bush) and I believe he owns (or used to own) a liberal radio network that may have gone bankrupt. To continue to get speaking gigs he needs to keep his name and face in front of the public. After all, he needs to support his two private jets and three houses (one a twenty room mansion in Tennessee) but he wants you and I to use public transit and change our bulbs to fluorescence. What a hypocrite!!

I heard all of this on Hannity and Colms and really wonder why they have turned themselves into an "entertainment" news show. They spent DAYS on the whole, Rosie and Trump disagreement, Countless days on ANna Nicole Smith, Brittany and now AL Gore. It seems if you want entertainment news, you should watch Access Hollywood or Extra. If they want to be considered as a true news outlet, they need to lay off the entertainment.

Adrienne you have a point, they are in the wrong pew. Somebody had to replace Louella Parsons but it should not be our news shows. Even Glenn Beck was covering this crap.
