Cold Weather

It's COLD. Last night it went down to 39 degrees. Having lived in Detroit for 23 years I know what cold really is but having lived in southern states for 41 years I've become a candy ass. Last week in Las Vegas we visited the Outlet Mall of Las Vegas as we always do. We rarely have anything in mind but usually spend hundreds on very useful things we did not know we needed. Last week Nancy bought a down comforter. Last night I appreciated her insight more than ever. If you ever go to Vegas put that mall on your agenda.

which outlet mall do you prefer? There is one on either end of the strip. Marisa and I went to the Southern one last October and of course spent more than we planned. Gambling I can budget, outlet shopping.....not so much.

I think there is only one Outlet Mall named Outlet Mall of Las Vegas. It is about 3 miles south of the Airport on Las Vegas Blvd (the Strip). It used to be called Belze Outlet Mall. It's great! And it is all indoors. I hate those newer outdoor malls especially in very hot or very cold clims. I guess that is just my candy ass nature.

So the secret is out, Las Vegas has found another way to attack the visitors bank account.

Isn't it exciting to find something that you did not know that you needed.

I love to shop at the Outlet Malls. There is one here in Georgia just south of us. Mom and I like to go and shop there.

OK, so you have gotten a down comforter and have routinely spent hundreds getting things you didn't know you needed. Put the two together and you can sum up in two words..."duvet cover". :-)

Aunt Nancy could probably make a duvet cover.

Adrienne was just complaining about the cold too. As I was suggesting going to the beach during our visit.

You know what. Thanks to globalazation you can buy a duvet cheaper than you can buy the material to make your own (unless you buy thousands of yards of material to make hundreds of duvets). I for one am amazed at what you can buy in the USA so cheaply. I love outlet malls, swap meets and ebay.

So what are you saying? Aunt Nancy doesn't sew any more? Or are you being a nice guy and keeping her from all that work? If you purchase two sheets the size of your bed, sew them together....wallah! Duvet Cover.

Good point about the sheets. Nancy has sever arthritis in her hands and sews only when necessary. I AM a nice guy though.

Making is a matter of quality. You can make ice cream, but not cheaper than you can buy it. I only make things that I can't find in the market place, or that I need better quality than I can find.
I have a friend that made her own computer and, at best, saved thirty-seven cents.
It's a mass production world, the Shakers are moribund.

We all knew you were and are a nice guy. Even Scott says so.
As for finding things in the mass produced and throw away world, that's all fine and good if you don't care about your decor. Some people (not necessarily me) like to have a room coordinate. Ok, well... I do like to have a room coordinate.

Here we go again! Yesterday it was 80 degrees, and now they are calling for 28degrees overnight tomorrow. Someone call AL Gore!

Al Gore does not do anything about the weather. He talks about others doing something about it with our tax dollars, and giving up many things we have grown to like. He is a voice crying "doomsday" just as Ted Danson did fifteen years ago.
