Not Running For President

Yesterday John Kerry announced that he will not seek the nomination for president of the United States. After much discussion with my immediate family and close friends I have decided not to seek the nomination either. I want to spend more time with my family and golfing. In the words of a famous politician (whose name I cannot recall): If nominated I will not run. If elected, I will not serve. I know some people never considered me a viable candidate for president but that did not stop John Kerry from announcing.

Things I Forgot About Cold

Nancy and I went biking at 6:00am this morning. The temperature was 36 degrees and the wind was 10 to 15 mph. Having lived 23 years in Michigan we dressed for the weather. I forgot what it is like to have so many layers of clothes that you can hardly put your arms straight down. I forgot how your toes and fingers first start hurting then eventually go numb. I forgot how much your eyes water and your nose runs until you don't care anymore. I forgot how much your body shakes when it gets too cold. Where's Al Gore when you need him?? We rarely miss our weekly bike ride along the beach but we will think twice next time the temperature is below 40 degrees. We are so thankful to be living in Southern California where weather rarely interferes with our plans but there is a limit what we can tolerate as we get older.

Cold Weather

It's COLD. Last night it went down to 39 degrees. Having lived in Detroit for 23 years I know what cold really is but having lived in southern states for 41 years I've become a candy ass. Last week in Las Vegas we visited the Outlet Mall of Las Vegas as we always do. We rarely have anything in mind but usually spend hundreds on very useful things we did not know we needed. Last week Nancy bought a down comforter. Last night I appreciated her insight more than ever. If you ever go to Vegas put that mall on your agenda.

New Blogger needs help

Being a new Blogger I need some information. Marcel could not find a way to comment to my posting and neither could I. So how did Pyle and Monica add a comment? I looked for a way to add a comments link but found none. Also, I just started my Blog late last night. How did others find it so fast?

First Blog Posting

This is my first posting of my new Blog. Nancy and I just returned from 4 days in Las Vegas. Had a great time as usual (translation: we did not lose more than planned.). Our room was comped at The Orleans. We played at about 10 different casinos. Did not attend any shows this trip. We last went to Vegas last August. On that trip we actually came home with more money than we started and we saw the Lance Burton show (a birthday gift from Renee).
